ph3bAbout the team /b /h3 pAt our headquarters in Hengelo the System Engineering department is responsible for the entire development cycle of our products, services and solutions, consisting of concept definition, system design, system integration and validation. /p pNavy vessels are designed to operate in high-threat environments. These threats are becoming faster, more maneuverable, and more complex. Anti-ship missiles go three to five times faster than the speed of sound, with increasingly complex behavior. At the same time the possibilities of modern navy vessels to counter threats are also expanding. When several of these threats come up against them simultaneously, it becomes increasingly difficult for human operators to take efficient and effective protection measures. To aid the crew in effectively combatting these threats at the right time in the right manner, and thus ultimately improve their chance of survival, Thales is developing the Above Water Warfare System (AWWS). AWWS is an integration of a Fire Control System and several sensors and effectors. /p pSystem Engineers working on AWWS are part of a multi-site team in Hengelo and in Delft.
