What are you going to do as a Scientific Software Engineer?
As a Scientific Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing software involving physics, mathematics, simulation, and numerical computation. You will work on complex simulation models and numerical algorithms for applications in the oil & gas, earth science, medical, and semiconductor markets. As a member of a small development team, your responsibilities include:
- Development of numerical algorithms;
- Modeling of physical phenomena;
- Translating algorithms and models into C, C++, C#, Python, and/or Fortran;
- Unit testing of software components;
- Troubleshooting and implementing solutions;
- Documentation.
Do you see yourself as…
A Scientific Software Engineer with a passion for science and software engineering, not afraid to analyze complex problems and build innovative solutions. You should have:
- A Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, physics, or mathematics;
- Experience developing and implementing numerical algorithms;
- Experience in technical software development in C, C++, C#, Python, and/or Fortran;
- Preferably experience with high-performance computing;
- Fluency in English and Dutch (or at least willingness to learn Dutch).
