As we solidify our expansion into China and grow our market share, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic (Chinese speaking) Sales Engineer to join our team and drive sales of electron microscopes and accessories to academic institutions, research laboratories, and industry partners in the Chinese market.Please note that for this specific role we are looking for someone that is willing to travel to China frequently. We do not provide any work permits either for working in the Netherlands or anywhere else.Your role A Sales Engineer at Delmic B.V. is responsible for promoting and selling high-tech microscopy equipment and accessories to a variety of customers, including academic institutions, research laboratories, and industry partners. This role involves a deep understanding of the technical features and capabilities of the products, as well as the ability to translate this knowledge into compelling sales pitches and demonstrations.In this position, you will be responsible for discovering and developing new sales opportunities as well as nurturing an existing sales pipeline. From the standpoint of sales, your primary responsibility will be to take necessary actions to ensure success for both Delmic's Material Science and Life Science division in cooperation with our distribution partners or directly as needed in China.Your key responsibilities include:Prospect and discover new sales opportunities in the electron microscopy fieldSupport and manage our current channel partners in ChinaEstablish and nurture relationships with key decision makers and key opinion leaders within target marketDetermine the needs of current and future customers with a keen attention on microscopy trendsQualify and nurture leads, perform monthly pipeline reviewsUnderstand the needs and pain points of potential customers, and tailor product demonstrations and sales pitches accordinglyServe as a technical expert on the features and capabilities of the products, and be able to clearly articulate the benefits to potential customersRespond to technical inquiries and requests for proposals in a timely and thorough mannerCollaborate with cross-functional teams across different geos, including product management and marketing, to develop and execute successful sales strategiesAchieve or exceed sales targets and quotasProvide guidance to sales leadership and segment leadership about expanding Delmic's presence in ChinaQualifications (must haves) Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills in Mandarin (C2/HSK6) and English (C2)Experience in direct prospecting and salesAbility and willingness to travel to China frequently (at least 25-30% of your time)Self-starter with a proactive and results-driven approach to salesExperience in the following is a plus:Additional languages: Japanese or KoreanTechnical understanding of microscopes and accessoriesWorking experience in materials science and/or life sciencesMasters or PhD in one of the following fields: applied/experimental physics, materials science & engineering, solid-state/condensed matter physics, optics/photonics, nanoscience/nanotechnology, surface science/thin-film engineering, electrical/electronic engineering (semiconductor focus), LED/display engineering, or related fieldsExperience in technical conference planningExperience in technical workshop hostingPerks €4,200 – €4,500 gross per month (depending on experience), excluding 8% holiday allowance and sales bonus. A performance-based sales bonus. 30 paid holidays per year. Full-time (40 hours per week), but flexible working hours. Location: Delft, The Netherlands (head office) and Mainland China.
