Together with our partners, we’re building a bcircular carbon economy /b—where carbon is continuously reused, not released. /p pThe Project Engineer supports the execution of large capital projects (€100M+) across the project development lifecycle—from early development support through design, permitting, and financial close. This role serves as a key technical and coordination resource, bridging engineering, project management, permitting, and external partners to ensure project deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with scope, schedule, and budget objectives. The position contributes to technical reviews, execution planning, permitting coordination, project stewardship, and continuous improvement of project delivery practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong process engineering background and use their technical knowledge to be an effective contributor. /p h3Key Responsibilities Duties /h3 h3Project Execution Coordination /h3 ul liSupport Program Manager and Project Directors in execution of capital projects /li liCoordinate day-to-day project activities across engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, and external stakeholders. /li liTrack project scope, action items, and deliverables and escalate risks as needed. /li liMaintain project risk registers and coordinate with internal team to document project risks /li liAssist in maintaining schedules, budgets, and project reporting. /li liCoordinate with permitting consultants and support preparation of permitting strategies. /li liAssist in preparing, reviewing, and compiling permitting information. /li liTrack permitting requirements, timelines, and approvals to support overall project execution. /li /ul h3Technical Support Engineering Coordination /h3 ul liCoordinate across engineering disciplines and external partners including FEED/EPC contractors and vendors. /li liProvide general technical support and assist with design reviews. /li liMaintain action and comment registers to ensure robust engineering design. /li /ul h3Project Controls Documentation /h3 ul liEstablish and maintain project infrastructure including document control systems. /li liSupport cost tracking, reporting, and contractor performance monitoring. /li liSupport preparation of development updates and materials for senior management and governance forums. /li liEnsure compliance with internal procedures, controls, and reporting requirements. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. /li liMinimum 5 years of professional experience, with specific permitting coordination experience /li liExcellent interpersonal and communication skills /li /ul h3Work Conditions /h3 ul liCandidates must be able to work from/travel to our offices in Delft, Netherlands; Ghent, Belgium; and Guildford, United Kingdom. /li liAble to work in a office and/or remote environment within the United Kingdom/Europe. /li liProficiency with MS Office and project coordination software tools. /li liTravel up to approximately 30% within the United Kingdom and Europe and internationally to support project development, engineering, planning, and permitting activities. /li /ul pLanzaTech is pioneering the use of gas fermentation technology to recycle waste carbon emissions into ethanol, which can then be converted into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through an Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) process.
