ppWe are looking for a nanofabrication quantum engineer to join the Quantum Internet Division at QuTech. Our team is dynamic and inclusive, with each member bringing unique perspectives and expertise to innovative research in semiconductor quantum technology. /p pThe Quantum Internet division develops scalable photonic quantum technologies for networking and distributed quantum computing. Our work centers on designing, fabricating, and integrating high-performance photonic quantum devices, including waveguides, resonators, and spin‑photon interfaces. We pioneer advanced nanofabrication processes to enable precise control, efficient readout, and large‑scale integration of quantum photonic components, while also investigating emergent phenomena in complex photonic systems. /p pA key driver of impact in this field is the realization of reliable, high‑quality integrated photonic devices. This demands continuous refinement of fabrication workflows spanning lithography, etching, deposition, and characterization, combined with a rigorous methodological approach to ensure reproducibility and yield across process runs. /p pAs a nanofabrication engineer within the Quantum Internet division, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams developing photonic quantum hardware, contributing to the optimization of device designs and fabrication recipes to accelerate our research. Operating primarily from the two university cleanrooms, you will collaborate with material growth and processing specialists as well as device physicists. Your role will be central to translating designs into functional quantum photonic chips and advancing scalable fabrication strategies for next‑generation quantum networks and processors. /p pWe offer you a unique opportunity where every day brings new challenges and where, as part of a team, you will contribute to cutting‑edge research in quantum computing and semiconductor technology. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liNanofabrication process development through staying up to date with developments in integrated photonic fabrication. /li liAnalysis and inspection of quantum photonic devices, establishing effective feedback and feedforward systems. /li liNanofabrication processing with a focus on quantum photonic devices in silicon, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, and other materials. /li liStabilization of currently running processes and set up of regular fabrication runs. /li liProcess transfer from and to PhD students. /li liProcesses include deposition, e‑beam, focused‑ion, and optical lithography, dry and wet etching, lift‑off, CPD, and dicing. /li liCoordination with 3-4 research groups. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 pWhether you are about to complete your Ph.D. with experience in fabrication and nanolithography, or you are an experienced quantum engineer, this role is tailored for you. We offer two salary scales: Scale 10 (€ 3378 to € 5531) for junior to mid‑senior candidates and Scale 11 (€ 4537 to € 6209) for senior candidates.
