Legal Counsel (Dutch speaking) – TOPdesk – Delft

Job Description

  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance issues, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives
  • Review, draft and negotiate business contracts, agreements and other legal documents, including customer contracts, supplier contracts, terms and conditions, and partnership agreement
  • Support data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR and other applicable regulations
  • Assist in the management and protection of the company’s intellectual property portfolio (trademarks, copyrights, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external counsel on specialist matters as required
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and changes in laws and regulations relevant to the business and ensure business practices align with current laws and regulations
  • Provide support on corporate governance related matters as well as in strategic transactions
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with the company’s business activities
  • Conduct legal research on legal issues and developments
  • Reports to the VP Legal

Qualifications

  • JD degree in law
  • 3-5 years of experience, gained at a law firm or as in-house legal counsel in a business environment (experience in a tech business considered a plus)
  • Solid knowledge of commercial agreements (incl. SaaS), corporate law and data protection
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Pro-active, business-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently with guidance from senior legal team members and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken) (German considered a plus)
