Life Sciences – HSE Officer (Office based)

A medium-sized international life sciences company with a growing presence in Europe, the UK, and Asia is hiring its first dedicated HSE Officer in Europe . This role offers significant ownership and visibility, with responsibility for supporting compliance across office, warehouse, and laboratory operations in the Netherlands and UK.
Primarily office-based , the position involves maintaining procedures, delivering training, and embedding a strong culture of safety and compliance. It’s a unique opportunity for someone early in their career to shape HSE processes from the ground up and grow with the business .
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with EU and NL regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses, ensuring proper control measures.
- Deliver HSE trainings, particularly around product handling and delivery.
- Support compliance across office, warehouse, and lab operations.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor HSE performance indicators and propose improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Europe to align safety standards.
Must-haves
- 2–4 years of HSE experience within life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceuticals
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety (IVK), Chemical Engineering, Biology, Life Sciences (or related)
- Understanding of Dutch HSE regulations
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to train and engage colleagues
- Proficiency in English
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of EU/UK HSE regulations
- Certifications such as MVK, HVK, NEBOSH, or equivalent
- Dutch language skills
