Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Head of Supply Chain and Procurement to develop and implement the supply chain strategy for Elysian Aircraft, developing strong relationships with (risk-sharing) suppliers/partners, managing the contractual side of joint development, certification and production programs and sourcing critical components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace supply chain management, with a proven track record of leading the supply chain activities in aerospace development programs. This role requires a leader who drives our procurement programs, builds and manages a talented team, and builds strong cooperation within the Elysian organization and especially within Engineering and Manufacturing in multi-disciplinary design-build teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply chain management of E9X program through all its phases:
- Develop and implement global supply-chain strategies, lead supplier selection and contractual negotiations, manage long-term (design-build) contracts and supplier relations.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling processes to ensure manufacturing productivity and efficiency while minimizing shortages and costs.
- Implement risk management strategies to ensure supply chain resilience, oversee supplier performance management and ensure that Bill-of-Material costs are within budget and continuously improve.
Partnership & Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and manage internal and external relationships between Elysian and its key suppliers.
- Collaborate with design-built teams to identify and qualify new suppliers for innovative technologies.
- Build a team of supply chain experts, who will develop and manage supply chain relations within the design build-teams with their key suppliers for critical systems and components.
Purposeful Leadership & Team Building:
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Lead and support cross-functional project teams to continuously improve the supply chain and achieve cost and efficiency targets.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in aerospace supply chain management, including experience in supply chain management in aerospace advanced product development programs.
5+ years of experience leading procurement teams and managing complex projects.
Proven experience in managing complex supplier relationships, including co-development and certification, and delivering results on time and within budget.
Experience in sourcing (battery) electric aircraft systems/components or in related emerging technologies is a plus.
Success Traits:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong knowledge of aerospace supply chain management principles and practices.
Excellent negotiation, contracting and relationship management skills.
Strong program management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Deep understanding of the aerospace industry, with a network of industry contacts.
Proven ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in the use of project management tools and software.
Excellent communication in English.
