TU Delft OPEN Publishing (university publisher) is looking for a committed, enthusiastic and proactive student with an interest in open-access publishing and open science.

About TU Delft OPEN Publishing

TU Delft OPEN Publishing is a university publisher of high-standard publications on subjects relevant to TU Delft, offering a community-driven, open-access communication channel. The Managing Editor is a member of the journal editorial team and part of the TU Delft OPEN Publishing team, which provides optimal support to the TU Delft effort to make open science a norm in scientific research.

Tasks  

  • Check journal article format according to TU Delft OPEN Publishing guidelines
  • Develop positive working relationships with Authors, Reviewers, Editors and the publisher
  • Finalizing manuscripts for production  Provide administrative assistance to the editorial board (e.g. overseeing the status of the publications, sending reminders for overdue tasks, participating in periodic board meetings, etc.)
  • Prepare publishing schedules and oversee each project through production  Perform editorial check to conform to the journal guidelines (e.g. copyright/plagiarism check)
  • Upload conference proceedings papers
  • Requirements

  • Great organisation, collaborative, and communication skills, especially as you liaise with various teams and prioritise your study
  • Ability to work precisely
  • Ability to manage communication and workflow in a proactive manner
  • Interested in the publishing workflow

    Conditions of employment:

  • You will have a contract with FlexDelft
  • 2 to 8 hours per week
  • Flexible hours
  • Salary is based on your year of study and is determined by Flexdelft
